Brian J. Metzger | Partner

Brian Metzger joined Silverman Consulting in 1995, bringing financial management and consulting experience in a diverse range of industries including manufacturing, distribution and healthcare.

During his tenure at the firm, Mr. Metzger has assisted clients in a variety of business initiatives with a focus on both finance and operations. These initiatives range from profit enhancement and liquidity improvement strategies resulting in financial turnarounds, to assisting clients with a debt restructuring or the sale of a business. In addition, Mr. Metzger has experience navigating clients through insolvency proceedings such as bankruptcies, assignments for the benefit of creditors, and orderly liquidations.

Since joining the firm, Mr. Metzger has consulted for both large and small businesses, including two $100 million consumer products companies in the lawn and garden industry, a number of mid-size companies in the food manufacturing/distribution industry, a senior care provider, plastic manufacturers, and other unique businesses such as a horse racing operation.

In addition, Mr. Metzger has assisted numerous not-for-profit media entities with cash flow forecasting, profit improvement initiatives, and collaboration strategies. Each engagement was approached with a goal of achieving viability and continuing the client's stated mission.

Prior to joining Silverman Consulting, Mr. Metzger was a senior accountant and financial analyst for W.W. Grainger where he was a member of a financial team that integrated three business units. He was also involved in the start-up and operation of a Grainger-funded new business venture. Prior to that, he was a senior accountant at the public accounting firm of Morris Tulsky and Company.

Mr. Metzger, a CPA, received a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Master of Science in Operations Management from DePaul University.
