Mackenzie Stender
Mackenzie Stender joined Silverman Consulting in 2025, bringing 17 years of experience with leadership across the C-suite as CEO, COO, and CFO, where he led complex turnarounds and organizational transformations. He specializes in CFO leadership and performance improvement in growth and crisis situations for PE–backed and family-owned businesses.
Mr. Stender’s experience includes serving as CFO of a $250 million home-goods distributor, backed by H.I.G. Capital, where he addressed ERP implementation challenges, elevated financial reporting and board communication to PE standards, and strengthened operational rigor and process discipline.
He served as CEO of a $32 million family-owned office products manufacturer and distributor, having advanced through CFO and COO roles within the organization. As CFO, he partnered with management to execute a comprehensive turnaround focused on pricing, SKU rationalization, and product-mix optimization, driving a 9% margin expansion, while leading disciplined working-capital and liquidity management initiatives, enhancing ERP and reporting systems and building a high-performing finance and accounting team. As COO, he implemented structural and personnel changes that improved alignment and accountability, worked with plant leadership to overcome a major production challenge and restored operational stability and team cohesion. As CEO, he revitalized commercial performance by reinforcing key customer relationships, expanding business-development capabilities, and improving sales-process efficiency and scalability.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Stender worked as an M&A consultant at FGMK, advising clients on buy and sell-side transactions across manufacturing, industrial, CPG, health care, and consumer sectors, including supporting a client through a $428 million sale to a Fortune 500 company. He began his career as a derivatives trader with leading proprietary firms in Chicago before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the firm’s audit practice where he served clients in private equity, health care, mutual funds, and real estate.
Mr. Stender is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Finance from the University of Colorado.
